The distributed denial of service (DDoS) assaults hit the airport web sites of a number of main US cities together with Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix and St Louis.

The airport web sites have been focused after the pro-Russian hacking group often called “KillNet” printed a listing of websites and inspired its followers to assault them.

The DDoS assaults solely affected the public-facing web sites of the airports, which provide flight and companies data and should not have any affect on operations.

Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport stated its web site is “up and working after an incident early this morning that made it inaccessible to the general public.”

“An investigation into the reason for the incident is underway,” it stated. “At no time have been operations on the airport impacted.”

A lot of the airport web sites focused gave the impression to be functioning usually after being briefly knocked offline.

KillNet claimed accountability final week for assaults on quite a few US state authorities web sites, and it has taken purpose at different international locations opposing Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
