Southampton County in Virginia final week began informing people that their private data might need been compromised in a ransomware assault.

The incident was recognized in September, when a menace actor accessed a server at Southampton and encrypted the information that was saved on it.

The county says that it took steps to include the assault instantly after figuring out it, and that it launched an investigation into the incident, to find out the kind of information which may have been compromised.
