Google on Tuesday introduced the completion of its $5.four billion all-cash acquisition of cybersecurity providers and menace intelligence agency Mandiant (NASDAQ: MNDT). The deal was initially introduced in March 2022.

Thought of a premier incident response agency monitoring superior nation-state menace group exercise, Mandiant was initially acquired by FireEye in December 2013. Mandiant will be a part of Google Cloud and retain the Mandiant model.

Google is investing in cybersecurity to drive its cloud computing portfolio, and has beefed up its personal safety lineup with the acquisition of Siemplify so as to add to the Chronicle SIEM platform and the VirusTotal malware evaluation platform in 2012.

Evaluation carried out by SecurityWeek reveals that greater than 230 cybersecurity-related mergers and acquisitions have been introduced within the first half of 2022, with greater than 435 cybersecurity-related mergers and acquisitions introduced in 2021.
