Britax Romer and Mercedes Benz are developing a car seat for the future. Britax Romer , a British-German company specializing in child safety while driving, and producing baby carriages , as well as car and cycle chairs , has begun to jointly develop a child car seat of the future together with the Mercedes-Benz car concern. The prototype was presented at ESF 2019, which was held at the end of this May.
According to safety regulations, children under 15 months must be in the car with their backs to the direction of travel, which does not allow parents to control their child during the ride. The Britax Römer innovative car seat will be equipped with the MBUX multimedia display, which allows you to monitor the position and condition of the baby without having to be distracted from the road. The chair is equipped with a camera, as well as sensors measuring heart rate, temperature and respiration, which analyze the data and determine whether the child sleeps or is awake.
In addition, according to the company UDV, every second car seat is installed in the car incorrectly, which exposes the child while driving great risks. In order to avoid improper installation of your chair, Britax Römer has thought out a special algorithm with which it will be easier and more convenient to install it.
To date, there is still no information about when sales of this car seat start. Its approximate value has not been disclosed yet either.
